Passport Application in Limbo?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, passport processing times are severely delayed.
To add to the frustration, the National Passport Processing Center is currently unreachable. The toll free phone number cuts off after the second prompt, and email inquiries generate an automated response, referring you to the number that just disconnected you.
When all else fails, the best way to check the status of your application is to contact your State Senator. S/he should be able to track it down and put you directly in touch with the individual assigned to your file.
It worked for me and for several acquaintances, when nothing else did.
