Ethiopia, former Kingdom of Abyssinia, is a “must visit” for anyone intrigued by ancient history, timeless cultures, awe-inspiring religious pageantry, and geological marvels. Our journey begins in the majestic, biodiverse Simien Mountains. From there we travel to Lalibela to witness Timket (Epiphany) processions and ceremonies of the Ethiopian Orthodox faith.  Our exploration continues to the Omo Valley, cradle of civilization, where proud nations of stone age tribes preserve lifeways that have endured for centuries. Last, but by no means least, we venture into the ultimate adventure seeker’s dream: the Danakil Depression, home to vast salt flats, Erta Ale volcano, surreal geothermal fields. You must see Ethiopia to believe it. Then again, we’ve seen it and we still can’t believe it!
